American Music Lecture: “The Rat Pack”

October 6 @ 18:00 - 19:30

Free

A monthly series of lectures devoted to American music, particularly Grammy Award ® winners and their famous albums. We’ll learn and discuss what makes album a “hit,” the creative process in music, how do musicians achieve success in the record industry and what are unifying factors in winning albums (if there are any). Each lecture will cover individual albums/artists and over the course will include Frank Sinatra’s “Come Dance with Me,” Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” “Ray Charles’ “Genius Loves Company,” Taylor Swift’s “1989” and others.

This month’s lecture will introduce you to the music of the “Rat Pack,” a name used to refer to a group of Hollywood actors and singers over the years. The group included mega stars such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall and many others.

Led by Dmitry Tsvetkov, a musician, literary agent and writer.

* * NOTE: There will be no Open Mic Night afterward.
