Learning about America through Film

** DATE CHANGE: MEETING WILL TAKE PLACE ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 23rd at 6:30p.m. **

Visitors will learn about American culture, history, and social issues through cinema. All genres will be represented and the films will be discussed briefly on their importance and background. The goal of this club is to not only entertain, but to understand different subjects of American culture through visual art. Participants will also learn English vocabulary, listening comprehension and critical thinking.

The film to be shown and discussed this week: “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” (1986, 103 minutes long).

NOTE: Film is rated PG-13 and is not suitable for those younger than 13 years old

Led by Karyna Sitkowski, a film enthusiast and graduate of Wayne State University in Michigan.
