The Makerspace, located at the American Center, offers an opportunity for people of all ages to learn, experiment, collaborate, and become a maker. It is a place where you can work on all kinds of projects, from computer programming and robot building to sewing and jewelry making. Guests of all skill levels are invited to experience our new innovative technology and crafting kits.
Use our various sewing materials and accessories to create garments with embedded electronic devices such as conductors, integrated circuits, LEDs, and conventional batteries.
Record your own audio, take professional-quality still photos, or produce video with edited background with the use of our DSLR camera and a green screen (chroma key).
Experiment with microcontrollers and hardware platforms to fulfill an infinite variety of electronic projects – from basic circuits to voice controlled Arduino robots.
Use traditional resources for drawing, textile work, paper craft, scrapbooking, card making, decoupage, and other mixed media art projects.
Board games and books
Spend time playing fun science-themed board games, assembling 3D puzzles, or browsing through reference books designated to various aspects of the Maker culture.
