Join Jehan as she discusses the key figures in one of the most turbulent times in U.S. history when the country was divided, and over 620,000 died, and over 3.5 million enslaved African Americans’ lives were forever changed.

Speaker’s bio:

Jehan Jones-Radgowski is a U.S. Foreign Service Officer. She has lived all over the world, including the Dominican Republic, Germany, Ghana, South Africa, Spain, and Venezuela.  She is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.  She is the author of The Escape of Robert Smalls:  A Daring Voyage out of Slavery, and John Lewis: Get to know the Statesman Who Marched for Civil Rights.  Later in 2020, her biographies on Harriet Tubman and Booker T. Washington will be released.  Jehan works for the U.S. Embassy in Moscow and lives here with her family and very old Cобачка.
