During this series of lectures about financial technologies (finthech) we will explore regulations connected with cryptocurrencies, initial coin offerings, online lending, wealth management technologies, and financial account aggregators. What is more, we will understand how new financial technologies are continually adjusted. In these lectures you will discover what key legal and regulatory challenges FinTech firms in various sectors face.

In the second lecture of the series on May 14 we will speak about cryptocurrencies, distributed ledger technology, initial coin offerings, and examine how they are regulated. We will also see the way cryptocurrency is regulated: as money, as a commodity, and as property. Additionally, we will examine newly established payment applications and methods. To understand differences between them, we will have a look at how traditional payment systems operate and are regulated. Finally, we will identify key legal issues associated with the use of financial account aggregators.
