To mark the International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace, we invite you to a private discussion with Suzanne Massie, scholar of the Soviet Union and Russia for over four decades. Ms. Massie is best known for her role as key advisor to U.S. President Ronald Reagan between 1984 and 1988 during the critical years of the end of the Cold War.
The discussion about Ms. Massie’s life story and career will be held on Monday, April 26, at 6:00 pm in English, with simultaneous Russian interpretation available. The discussion will be moderated by Oleg Zimarin, who published a Russian translation of her latest book Trust but Verify. Reagan, Russia and me. A personal memoir. Register for the discussion in the form below.
Ms. Massie’s ability as an interpreter of Russian culture and a bridge builder between the Russian and American people has been acknowledged by both countries. In the United States, her books Land of the Firebird, Pavlovsk, The Living Mirror, Journey, and Nicholas and Alexandra, on which she worked with her former husband Robert K. Massie, have been read by millions. She has lectured widely in the United States and served as a fellow of the Harvard Russian Research Center from 1985-1997.
