AMCBusiness: Raising funds for startups and Roundtable with Accelerators

American Center at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow joins the Global Entrepreneurship Week initiative and hosts special business events.

Today Ms. Weisinger will talk about raising funds for startups and business finance. Briana will cover such topics as what investors look for when supporting business initiatives, where to look for investors, where young businessmen can look for quality education, what skills and knowledge are key for young entrepreneurs and start-up founders. As part of the presentation, the speaker will also cover such topic as business education and modern business education. 

After Ms. Weisinger’s presentation, the American Center welcomes everyone for a roundtable with business accelerator representatives.

Speaker Bio:

Briana Weisinger, MA, MBA was named the University of California, San Diego’s first Startup Advocate in May 2016 where she has activated $2M+ to support entrepreneurs while focusing on building the entrepreneurial ecosystem at UC San Diego.
Weisinger’s work democratizes the ecosystem increasing transparency and accessibility. She is responsible for launching and leading high profile initiatives that scale across the 60,000+ person campus and developing customized programs for technology assessment and entrepreneurial education. She founded Ignite @ UC San Diego — the largest university-based entrepreneur conference — in 2016.
Weisinger is responsible for raising UC San Diego’s profile nationally and internationally and was a 2017 U.S. Delegate for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit and a 2018 U.S. Delegate and Speaker at Global Entrepreneurship Congress. She has showcased University-based startups to U.S. Congressmen, City Council Members and State Assembly Members and at conferences such as the National Council of Entrepreneurial Tech Transfer and the national VentureWell OPEN.
Weisinger is an advocate of female leadership, was appointed Interim Executive Director of Stella Labs in 2019 and strives to meet the 50/50 commitment to providing examples of female leadership in all activities.
Weisinger was a 2018 finalist for the San Diego Next Top Business Leaders Under 40; a co-founder and former vice president of the National Association of Women MBAs in San Diego; is on the board of directors for Hera Labs, and has launched and closed her own business in the education industry. Weisinger holds an M.A. in International Relations and an M.B.A.
