American Center at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow joins the World Health Organization initiative of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence.

25 November is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and the start of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence. 

Today American Center will screen the film «Power and Control: Domestic Violence in America».  This is a comprehensive and timely exploration of the shocking persistence of domestic violence in our society. The complex issues around domestic abuse are refracted through the story of Kim, a mother of three in Duluth, MN. Kim’s journey takes her from a domestic violence shelter, to a promising fresh start, and then through a disturbing final twist.

The discussion is facilitated by the U.S. Embassy representative.
