Film Screening and Discussion: "Saving My Tomorrow: Kids Who Love the Earth"

In this new series of biweekly film screenings and discussions, the participants will watch documentary and feature films and discuss the issues raised in these films.

This week’s film: Saving My Tomorrow: Kids Who Love the Earth (2017). In this family series directed and produced by Amy Schatz, kids from around the world share their thoughts on a range of environmental issues, from endangered animals and pollution to climate change, while scientists at the American Museum of Natural History talk with kids about how organisms are affected by a changing earth.

Saving My Tomorrow features portraits of animals and plants in danger alongside inspiring young environmentalists who are working to make a difference. The series includes readings, performances, and appearances by Alan Cumming, Laura Dern, Tina Fey, Lennon & Maisy, Ziggy Marley, Audra McDonald, Jason Mraz, Liam Neeson, Karen O, Susan Sarandon, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and others.

After the video, the participants will have a discussion about the issues that were raised in the documentary and go over some important and interesting vocabulary terms related to environmental protection.
