Introduction to Visual Arts for Teens

This introductory course offers a guided and joyful journey into the basics of Art History for school-age children (14-18 years old). Led by two art historians, these thematic classes change regularly and include lectures and storytelling, as well as a guided and creative exploration of art materials. The aim of the course is to give teenage participants a clear understanding of different types of art and to introduce them to the greatest artists in each sphere. Attendees will also be able to create an art project that they can take home or leave at the American Center for others to admire. 

No prior knowledge or experience in arts is required.

Led by: AMC volunteers Anastasia and Katrin. They are both majoring in Art History at university and are planning to continue working in this sphere. They have both worked in the art galleries. Traveling around Russia and outside of the country, they enjoy exploring visual arts and architecture and want to share their knowledge with others in an entertaining and informative way.
