Legal issues are important but seem to be complicated and boring for you? This lecture will help you understand how business settings are supposed to run so that no room for delusion is left.

During this lecture we will continue to puzzle out relationships between law and technology. We shall start with summing up personal data protection check list for startups operated on Russian and European markets.

Then we shall focus on implications of intellectual property rights which are as diverse as copyright, trademarks, patents, and the regulation of networks. You will learn who is the owner of copyright of computer programs, web design or music samples – employer or employee. Moreover you will learn how to secure your creations, fight plagiarism in different jurisdictions. And will get knowledge on financial side of copyright issues – registration fees, duration of copyright protection, taxation.

No specific knowledge and skills are required.
