On Wednesday, May 20th, you will hear about the value of media literacy. As the world fights the Covid-19 pandemic, it’s also battling rumors and misinformation about the virus that may lead the public to believe and even take harmful actions. In this program, you’ll learn why media literacy is so important in this public health crisis, and how you can recognize good vs. misleading information.
We’ll be joined by Michelle Ciulla Lipkin of the National Association for Media Literacy Education, and Dr. Ankuran Dutta of Gauhati University. Come ready to ask questions and be inspired! Michelle and Ankuran will provide methods to identify disinformation and excellent examples of how you can prevent the spread of harmful rumors. Use #MentorTalks when asking your question, and we’ll see you online!
This event will be livestreamed as part of the AMC Online programming. When registering below, please submit your valid email address to receive a link to the livestream of this event on May 20 at 19:00 Moscow time.
