25 November was the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and the start of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence. The 16 Days of Activism end on 10 December (International Human Rights Day), and during this time American Center hosts events dedicated to women empowerment and preventing violence against women.  

Our guest speaker tonight is Dina Biygishieva, lawyer, author of the TV project «Legal Field» («Правовое поле»), member of the Public Chamber of the Republic of Dagestan, lecturer at Dagestan State Unversity.

Dina has travelled to the U.S. for the Women Empowerment press tour as part of a team of Russian journalists. She will share her observations and program outcomes with the AMC audience.
