It’s one of the oldest clichés in the screenwriting business: writing is rewriting.  But how do you make a good script great?  And how do you fix the problems that are keeping your script from getting made?  This is a course for writers who have completed or are in the process of completing an original screenplay.  During the 5-week class, you will learn how the Hollywood development process really works, as well as learning the tools to get your script noticed by agents and producers. 

WEEK 1 – HOW HOLLYWOOD WORKS: THE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

WEEK 2 – CRITICAL READING: WHY DO SOME GOOD IDEAS BECOME BAD SCRIPTS?

WEEK 3 – SCENE ANALYSIS: IDENTIFY PROBLEMS WITH STRUCTURE, PACE & THEME

WEEK 4 – CHARACTER ANALYSIS: ADDING DEPTH TO YOUR CHARACTERS & WRITING DIALOG AS A NON-NATIVE SPEAKER

WEEK 5 – THE ART OF THE PITCH: HOW TO SELL YOUR SCRIPT OR IDEA
