Join us for online conversations with American guest speakers in a new edition of Shop Talks moderated by filmmaker Michael Beckelhimer —a weekly series of virtual meetings with American cultural performers and experts.

The guest speaker of the fourth Shop Talk on May 26 at 5:00 PM MSK is Dr. Ball, a history professor at Marquette University.

Alan Ball is a history professor at Marquette University, specializing in Russian/Soviet history and the Cold War.  His most recent books are Imagining America: Influence and Images in Twentieth-Century Russia (Rowman & Littlefield) and Liberty’s Tears: Soviet Portraits of the “American Way of Life” During the Cold War (Oxford University Press).
