AMC Online | Poetry Club

If you are looking for an opportunity to improve your language proficiency, immerse yourself in American culture, and open new horizons through reading, AMC’s Poetry Club is for you!

In weekly online sessions of the Poetry Club, we are going to read and analyze poetic works by such famous American poets as Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost, T.S. Eliot, Sylvia Plath, and Rita Dove, while deciphering hidden meanings, drawing parallels with our own experiences, and even looking for examples of poetic references in today’s pop culture. We begin each session with an introduction to the author’s background, then smoothly moving to critical reading and discussion of their poems. The Poetry Club encourages and appreciates different points of view.

The sessions are designed for adults (over 18 years old) with Intermediate to Advanced English language levels.
