Join us for a landmark celebration as we commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop — a movement that began in the streets of New York and grew to become a global cultural force. This event promises a rich exploration of Hip-Hop’s history, evolution, and international impact.
Our distinguished keynote speaker, Murray Forman, is an authority on Hip-Hop culture and history. He is the author of The ‘Hood Comes First: Race, Space, and Place in Rap and Hip-Hop and co-editor of That’s the Joint!: The Hip-Hop Studies Reader. A recipient of the Nasir Jones Hip-Hop Fellowship at Harvard University, Forman’s work critically engages with the ways Hip Hop interacts with race, space, and identity.
Following Forman’s talk, we will host a dynamic panel discussion featuring Russian hip hop musicians and dancers. They will share their personal journeys within the Hip-Hop scene, revealing the American artists who have been their greatest inspirations, and discussing Hip-Hop’s profound influence on Russian youth culture.
Engage directly with our panelists during an interactive Q&A session. This is your chance to ask questions, share your thoughts, and contribute to a vibrant conversation about the transformative power of Hip-Hop.
