Learn English Through American Pop Culture (1990s edition)


Join us on Wednesdays at 18:00 MSK, January 24 – May 1, to learn English through the lens of American pop culture in the ’90s. 

Who: English teachers and learners of all levels

What: Weekly club 

When: Wednesdays at 6 PM MSK / 24 January through 1 May

Where: Wherever you are (via Zoom)

Why: Because learning English through American pop culture is fun, enlightening, and will help strengthen your English conversational/teaching skills as well as your understanding of American culture and all of its interesting idioms.

About the English Language Specialist:
Elizabeth (Liz) Martinez has been teaching ESOL for over 10 years to young learners, high school students, university students, and adults. She is passionate about finding new ways to connect with English language learners and, with international teaching experience in China and Thailand, she knows the rigors and benefits of teaching English within the context of different cultures. After the success of a previous course she designed, Exploring US Culture and History through Music, Liz worked closely with RELO to design this course for AMC audiences.

Liz has earned an MA in TESOL, a BA in Global Studies and Spanish, a state teaching license, and a 120-hr TEFL/TESL certificate.

To qualify for an e-certificate, you need to attend at least 10 out of 15 Zoom sessions and fill out an attendance form during each session.
