American Music Lecture: “Unforgettable… with Love”, a 1991 album by Natalie Cole
A monthly series of lectures devoted to American music, particularly Grammy Award ® winners and their famous albums. We’ll learn and discuss what makes album a “hit,” the creative process in music, how do musicians achieve success in the record industry and what are unifying factors in winning albums (if there are any). Each lecture will cover individual albums/artists and over the course will include Frank Sinatra’s “Come Dance with Me,” Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” “Ray Charles’ “Genius Loves Company,” Taylor Swift’s “1989” and others.
To commemorate Black History Month in February, the American Center is pleased to announce the lecture on 1991 album “Unforgettable… with Love” by Natalie Cole. The album is a tribute to her father, Nat King Cole. On 1992 Grammy Awards “Unforgettable… with Love” won six awards, including Album of the Year. The album also charted well in Australia and Europe and helped to promote Natalie Cole and to remind the world how great Nat King was.
