If your children are studying English and they want to discover interesting things about the world around us while improving their language skills, the American Center in Moscow invites you and your children to tune in to free weekly interactive sessions of Junior Children’s Club. These sessions will be held in simple English and will be hosted on Zoom.

When: Junior Children’s Club meets every Wednesday at 3:00-4:00 p.m. MSK on Zoom. The schedule and topics of all meetings are listed below.

What to expect: Junior Children’s Club meetings are hosted in simple English and will include videos, stories, quizzes, and other interactive activities. Please note that they are not English classes. Participation is free.

Who can join: These sessions are designed for 6-8-year-olds who are beginner or elementary learners of English. (If your child is 9-11 years old, join the meetings of Senior Children’s Club on Fridays at 3:00-4:00 p.m. MSK, register here.) We recommend that parents join these meetings together with their children.

How to register: Below this announcement, pick a date when you would like to attend and fill out the form to sign up for it. Please make sure to sign up separately for each date when you would like to attend. Make sure you sign up for the session of your child’s group (If your child is 9-11 years old, join the meetings of Senior Children’s Club on Fridays at 3:00-4:00 p.m. MSK, register here.) The number of places is limited, and registrations are on a first-come-first-served basis, so book soon! If you decide not to attend, please give up your ticket to let someone else have a chance to join. Participation is free.

Sessions are facilitated by: AMC volunteers and Dr. Kenny Holt, a licensed ESL instructor for Lawrence, Kansas elementary schools, who has an EdD/PhD in TESOL/Applied Linguistics from the University of Kansas, an M.A. in Education/Teaching English as a Second Language, and a BA in Elementary Education.

Here is Kenny’s introduction: “Hello! My name is Kenny. I teach ESL at a public elementary school in Kansas. I would like to help students learn about speaking, listening, reading, and writing English. We can also learn about interesting topics while building language skills.”
