AMC Online | Board Game Club

Board games are booming, with the board game industry continuing to thrive in a “golden age” or “renaissance” of popularity. You can join the trend and experience all the benefits of boargaming, such as allowing you to connect, strategize, and compete, in online sessions of AMC’s Board Game Club every Friday at 6:00 pm. MSK.

We invite people who would like to practice their English and make new connections. We are playing Codenames, Scattegories, and Scribble.

Originally, Codenames is a card game where two teams compete by each having a captain give one-word clues that can point to multiple words on the board.

Scattergories is the fast-thinking game of categories and words! Participants roll the die, set the timer, and think of answers to each category on the category list.

Scribble is a multiplayer drawing and guessing game. The game consists of a few rounds, in which every round you can draw your chosen word and your buddy has to guess it to gain points. The person with the most points at the end of the game will be the winner!

These games encourage the participants to express and defend their opinions, come up with arguments, and use creativity and concept identifying skills. They also let the participants practice a variety of vocabulary, grammatical patterns, and functional meanings.

Sessions are facilitated by AMC volunteers.
