International Day of Human Space Flight

Description

April 12 marks the International Day of Human Space Flight. The day commemorates the first human space flight on that day in 1961, which marked the beginning of the space era for humankind. Humanity’s interest in exploring what lies beyond its home planet and reaching the boundaries of the Universe has been growing exponentially since then. Making the near-Earth space more accessible through commercial spaceflight, establishing a sustainable presence on the Moon, and preparing for human missions to Mars, we continue to look for answers to fundamental questions about our place in the Universe and what it will mean for humanity to truly become an interplanetary species. To discover for yourself the mystery of space and the wonder of space exploration, browse through scientific magazines, fiction books, and non-fiction books in this collection from AMC’s free eBook Library.
