Description

Jazz Appreciation Month is celebrated every April in honor of the heritage of jazz as America’s original art form and in recognition of its significant contribution to the history of music in the United States and around the world. Created by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History in 2001, Jazz Appreciation Month aims to “encourage people of all ages to participate in jazz—to study the music, attend concerts, listen to jazz on radio and recordings, read books about jazz, and more.” To help you start on your reading related to jazz and other music genres, we are sharing with you this selection of magazines and books on the history of music, the music industry, and the music scene, both past and present.
